How Children Can Get Help

Children do not have to wait for an adult to notice that something is wrong. We make sure pupils know there are several ways to ask for help.

  • Speak to any trusted adult in school.
  • Speak directly to a member of the safeguarding team.
  • Ask to speak to the Pastoral Mentor.
  • Use the school's self-referral route to request pastoral support.
  • Tell a friend and ask them to help speak to an adult.

Our self-referral approach links closely with our wider wellbeing and Happy Mind work: children are taught to notice feelings, talk openly, ask for help, build resilience and understand that support is available.
