A Warm Welcome to Harper Bell School
I am delighted to welcome you to Harper Bell Seventh-day Adventist School.
As Headteacher, it is both a privilege and a responsibility to lead Harper Bell at a time of clear renewal and improvement. My focus is unwavering: to raise standards, strengthen teaching and learning and ensure that every child receives the high-quality education they deserve within a nurturing, faith-centred environment.
Harper Bell’s ethos is rooted in the values of the Seventh-day Adventist faith. These values shape our expectations, our relationships and our sense of moral purpose. They guide how we teach, how we care for one another and how we help our pupils grow into confident, compassionate and principled young people. Our close partnership with the SDA Church continues to enrich the spiritual life of our school.
Over recent months, we have implemented a number of key improvements to strengthen the quality of education across the school. These include a renewed focus on high expectations for behaviour and learning, a clear and consistent approach to teaching and learning and an ambitious, well-sequenced curriculum designed to build strong foundations, deepen understanding and support long-term memory. Staff work collaboratively through targeted professional development and coaching to ensure teaching continues to improve for every class and every child.
Alongside academic achievement, we place great importance on character development, wellbeing and personal responsibility. Our aim is for pupils to leave Harper Bell not only with strong outcomes, but with integrity, resilience and a clear sense of purpose.
Harper Bell is a caring and inclusive community where every child is known, valued and challenged to do their very best. We work closely with parents and carers, recognising that strong partnerships between home and school are essential to pupil success.
I warmly invite you to visit Harper Bell and see first-hand the positive changes taking place across our school. We are proud of the progress we are making and would welcome the opportunity to show you the calm, purposeful learning, strong relationships and high expectations that now define Harper Bell.
We look forward to welcoming you and your family into our school community.
I look forward to working closely in partnership with our school community as we continue to build positive changes together, rooted in faith and reaching for excellence. Together, we will ensure that love, learning and laughter remain at the heart of everything we do as we support our children to grow, thrive and reach for success.
