How We Meet Government Guidance
We follow the Department for Education’s statutory guidance on keeping uniform costs reasonable:
- Limit branded items: Only blazer and tie require a logo; other items can be bought from any retailer.
- Affordable alternatives: We allow iron-on logos for flexibility.
- Second-hand options: Arrangements are in place for parents to access pre-loved uniform.
- No unnecessary extras: Coats, bags, and shoes do not need to be branded.
- Consistency: Same uniform for all year groups; no special requirements for clubs or activities.
- Consultation: Parents and pupils are consulted before any major changes.
- Equality and Inclusion:
- No gender-specific lists—children can choose what they feel comfortable wearing.
- Religious garments and reasonable adaptations for sensory or physical needs are allowed.
