This half term at Harper Bell is filled with opportunities for children and families to learn, celebrate and connect. Our events enrich classroom learning and support children’s personal development, helping them build confidence, understand different experiences and cultures, and develop a strong sense of belonging.
Black History Month celebrations and our writing competition broaden children’s cultural knowledge and celebrate the contributions of Black individuals and communities. Our Year 1 Christian values performance and Harvest Thanksgiving celebration bring our ethos to life through gratitude, kindness and service to others. Hello Yellow Day encourages children to recognise and talk about their emotions, while our Great Athletes event promotes aspiration, perseverance and healthy, active lifestyles. Together, these experiences build cultural capital by introducing children to people, ideas and opportunities that extend their understanding of the world.
Parental engagement is central to our school community. Our parent reading workshops offer practical ways to support learning at home, while performances and our cosy Cinema Evening give families opportunities to share in school life and strengthen relationships with staff and one another.
