Safeguarding at Harper Bell Seventh Day Adventist School

At Harper Bell Seventh Day Adventist School, safeguarding is a fundamental aspect of our community, and it is everyone's responsibility. All staff members at Harper Bell Seventh Day Adventist School undergo annual training to recognise abuse and promote the welfare of our children. Each year, all staff and Governors are required to read and acknowledge their understanding of the Harper Bell Seventh Day Adventist School Safeguarding Policy and the latest version of the 'Keeping Children Safe in Education' document.

We believe it is crucial for children to feel safe. Our daily practices, curriculum, and collaborations with specialist organisations like the NSPCC empower our children by teaching them how to recognise abuse, stay safe both online and offline, and use their voices to speak out. Children are encouraged to talk to a trusted adult if they are worried about anything. This can be done face-to-face, or through a note in the worry box.

At Harper Bell Seventh Day Adventist School, we have a dedicated pastoral lead for children who are feeling worried.

In situations where we are concerned about a child's welfare, we may need to share information, seek advice, or work in partnership with other agencies. We believe in transparency and collaboration with all parties involved to achieve the best outcomes for our children.

If you need extra help and support, please do not hesitate to talk to us. We are here to assist in any way we can.

Your child's safety and well-being are our top priorities.
